CatholicMatch offers a variety of features to help you connect with other singles. We designed the search feature for those who have specific preferences in mind, like appearance or background.
What filters are available when searching?
We provide all users with the option to search by gender, age, distance, height, marital status, race/ethnicity, and body type. Those with a premium subscription can also filter their search results by smoking/drinking habits, children, education, political views, faith level, and liturgical preference.

To sort your results to show those who are closest to you geographically, sort by age, most recent activity, or to show those who are newest first, use the sort options found in the sort menu which appears like this:

How can I save my preferences?
If you have preferences that you'd like to use more than once, we recommend saving your search preferences to your account. Not only does this allow you to save time by not having to reenter the same search criteria each time you want to search using those preferences, but you can also easily see new members to the site who meet those preferences. For instructions on how to save your preferences, click here: How can I save my preferences?

How can I get the most out of the search feature?
  1. Avoid including criteria that's too strict. It's too easy to fall into the trap of treating a search like a shopping list and this is what causes a lot of people to miss out on finding their match. If you wouldn't turn a great person down for a date because they don't have blue eyes, don't include that as a filter in your search. These should be make or break filters only.
  2. If you're a subscriber, snooze the profiles of anyone who doesn't interest you. This way, they won't continue to appear in your search results and you can focus on making room for new results to appear. Learn more about this feature here: How does the snooze feature work?
  3. As you find people who do interest you, press the heart icon on their profile to let them know that you're interested.  Even better yet, try tip #4:
  4. Make sure to reach out to anyone and everyone in your search results who interests you. Don't wait for them to contact you first because that may never happen. If your goal is to be successful in finding a spouse, it's important that you contact several people each day with meaningful messages. If you aren't sure what to say, learn more here: What should I say when I first contact someone?
