Two-factor authentication (2FA), sometimes referred to as two-step verification or dual-factor authentication, is a security process in which users provide two different means of authentication in order to log in: both your password as well as a code sent to either your phone number or email address.
By enabling two-factor authentication, you will be required to enter a code sent to either your email or mobile phone number when signing in with a new device.
Two-factor authentication adds an additional layer of security to the login process by making it harder for someone to gain access to your devices or online accounts because, even if your password is hacked, a password alone is not enough to pass the authentication check.
How to enable 2FA:
- Visit your account settings and select the "security" tab from the list on the left. You can visit this same page at: https://www.catholicmatch.com/account/security
- Slide the slider to the right to enable two factor authentication.
- Type your phone number and then click "add."
- You're good to go! To disable 2FA, simply slide the blue slider back to the left.
