How does communication work on CatholicMatch?

On CatholicMatch, all members can read and send communication regardless of subscription status, however, some limitations apply to free accounts.

A subscriber can read all communication at the time that it is received; free members will have a 10 day delay. A subscriber can send personalized emotigrams, messages, and chat; free members can only send emotigrams.

Initiating a Conversation

After looking over member's profiles, you've found someone who interests you! This is the time to contact them and let them know. To initiate a conversation, begin on that member's profile. To contact them:

  1. Select Message to send a message or Emotigram to send an emotigram.
A message includes only text; an emotigram includes an image and text
  2. On the page that opens, type the message that you would like to send to the member in the textbox. If you opted to send an emotigram, click on the emotigram image that you would like to include with your message as well.
  3. Press the blue Send button to send your message or emotigram.

Finding Received Communication

When you receive communication from another member, it will be sent to your Inbox. To access your inbox and read your communication:

  1. Begin on your Home Page.
  2. Select More within the section entitled Recent Messages to view your full inbox.

  1. Scroll down to the text box beneath the message or emotigram that they sent to you.
  2. Type the message that you would like to send to the member in the textbox. If you opted to send an emotigram, click on the emotigram image that you would like to include with your message as well.
  3. Press the blue Send button to send your message or emotigram.
